EN PLEIN AIR
"I am in a state of contented bliss when I am in an Indian field or on an Indian hilltop painting or drawing, surrounded by nature, with all it sights and sounds, particularly bird calls, with cattle, dogs, monkeys, wonderful trees and spectacular skies, and occasionally a local, curious to come and see what I am doing."
"It is on another level than just walking around looking and taking photos. It has the element of prolonged observation, one notices more, for example, recently in a meadow in Goa, there were always cattle egrets nearby where I was painting but it was not until the end of the second session on the second day that I realised they were hunting for exquisite tiny little frogs the size of a finger nail."
